Summary of School: Holbrook SDA Indian School (HIS) is a first through twelfth-grade Christian Boarding Academy for Native American youth. HIS also manages Chinle Elementary a day-school for first- through twelfth-grade students in Chinle, Arizona on the Navajo reservation. HIS is operated by the Pacific Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and is the North American Division’s only Boarding Academy for Native American youth. Our vision is to restore in HIS students the image of our Creator and to provide a safe place for our students to live, learn, and grow in Christ.
Summary of Job: The Assistant to the Director of Development will be responsible for processing incoming donations, operating the donor database system, take care of the various office needs, and coordinate the school’s annual giving program. The candidate will serve as an assistant to the Director of Development in support of all development efforts.
Strategic oversight and maintenance of the fundraising database (Bloomerang) and supporting the information needs of the Director of Development including data extraction and reporting.
Collaborate with the Director of Development to develop the marketing and communications plan for the annual fund.
Execute the annual fund including direct mail solicitations, electronic solicitations, phonathons, and stewardship.
Cultivate and steward relationships with annual donors and (when necessary) major gift donors via phone calls, email, and written correspondence.
Prepare reports on the progress of the annual and major gifts fund.
Coordinate mass mailings; annual tax receipts, monthly newsletter mailing list, annual gift mailing etc…
Produce project summaries (highlighting relevant stories, photos, and project details).
Process donation’s received and submit totals to accounting
Coordinate distribution of In-kind gifts.
Assist with Board meetings
Other duties as assigned
Conditions of Employment:
Candidates must be members in good standing of the Seventh-dayAdventist Church and will be subject to a background check. Candidates must possess the legal right to work in the United States and may be subject to a trial period.
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Donor database management experience a plus. Experience working with Bloomerang preferred.

This is a full-time, hourly position. Minimum 36 hours per week. Wages will be determined based on experience.
