Head Girls Dean

Holbrook Seventh-day Adventist Indian School is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Head Girls Dean to lead and nurture the residential life of our female students. This role is central to creating a safe, structured, and Christ-centered dormitory environment that supports student growth, academic success, and character development. The Head Girls Dean serves as a mentor, role model, and leader, fostering a strong sense of community while upholding the values and standards of Seventh-day Adventist education.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to oversee residential life operations, supervise dorm staff, and maintain a structured, supportive environment for students. They possess knowledge and skills in student development, safe supervision practices, program planning, along with the flexibility to address individual student needs and campus activities. Clear communication, sound judgment, and collaborative problem-solving are essential. The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and foster a positive, respectful, and Christ-centered residential community is crucial for the success of a candidate in this role. 

The physical requirements of this role are included but not limited to: standing, and walking for prolonged periods, exposure to varying weather, and lifting up to 50 lbs.  This is a full time, 10-month salaried position which compensates according to the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Candidates must have a valid driver's license in good standing and be team players, and provide excellence in their department. This position reports to the Principal and is open until filled. 

 Qualifications

  • A passion for character development and healthy student spiritual experiences.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, psychology, or other related field.

  • Strong leadership, crisis and conflict management, organization, interpersonal communication and collaboration.

  • Ability to handle disciplinary matters with consistency and fairness.

  • Background in maintaining organized systems, planning and directing student developmental activities, and fostering a welcoming environment.

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

  • Boarding school experience is preferred but not required.

Food Service Director

The Food Service Director provides leadership and oversight for the school’s food service program, ensuring the planning and delivery of nutritious, balanced meals that support student wellness. This role manages daily kitchen operations, supervises staff and student workers, ensures compliance with food safety regulations, and maintains a welcoming dining environment for students and staff.

The Food Service Director collaborates closely with Administration on budgeting, inventory management, and special events. This position also supports school-wide programs and events, contributes to committees, and actively models the mission and values of the institution.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage kitchen operations, supervise staff, and maintain efficient workflows. They possess knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, menu planning, and inventory control, along with the flexibility to accommodate dietary needs and special events. Clear communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills are essential. The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and foster a positive, service-oriented dining environment allow for a deep alignment with the school’s mission.

Registrar & Librarian

The Registrar & Librarian Dual role supports the academic mission of the school by overseeing student records, enrollment processes, and academic reporting while maintaining an organized, welcoming school library that promotes curiosity and learning. This role ensures accurate recordkeeping, confidentiality, and compliance with school and accreditation requirements.

The Registrar & Librarian collaborates closely with Administration, Staff, and Parents to support enrollment, scholarship coordination, and a variety of reporting processes. This position also contributes to school-wide programs, committees, and events in order to actively support and model the mission and values of the institution.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities with accuracy and discretion. They possess experience or aptitude in school administration, database and records management, and library operations. In addition to this, the successful candidate leads themselves with clear communication, strategic problem-solving, and efficient time management skills. A love of service independently and collaboratively are essential for success in this role and alignment with the school’s Christ-centered mission.

The physical requirements of this role include, but are not limited to, prolonged sitting, walking throughout campus, fine motor use, lifting materials up to 40 pounds, and working in varying indoor and outdoor conditions. This is a full-time, hourly position operating under an at-will employment agreement, with compensation based on qualifications and experience. The Registrar & Librarian reports to the Principal, and the position is open until filled.

Development Assistant

Summary: The Development Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the development team. This position will assist with school visibility, volunteer coordination, event planning, alumni relations, and planned giving efforts. The successful team member is organized, proactive, and leads with a strong customer service mindset. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Attends conferences and camp meetings with and/or in place of the Development Director as an exhibitor to create increased school visibility and engage current and potential donors and volunteers.

  • Networks with community organizations and individuals for volunteer opportunities at HIS.

  • Networks with community organizations and individuals to coordinate school service projects for students.

  • Assists in coordinating and supervising outside volunteer groups on campus.

  • Assists in coordinating student mission projects.

  • Leads tours for donors and campus visitors as needed, providing a welcoming and informative experience.

  • Manages a Planned Giving program under the direction of the Development Director, including creating digital and printed Planned Giving content.

  • Communicates effectively with the Development Associate to maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the CRM/database (e.g., Bloomerang).

  • Supports logistics for fundraising events, alumni events, and donor outreach initiatives.

  • Creates and distributes alumni communications, including thank-you letters, email acknowledgments, event information, and stewardship updates.

Other Duties

  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safety-compliant work environment.

  • Serve on assigned school committees and actively contribute to the mission and vision of the institution.

  • Participate in school events, worships, assemblies, staff meetings, faculty families, and professional development programs as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in fundraising, professional communication, event management, or similar fields.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

  • Ability to handle sensitive donor, financial, and organizational information with confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Customer service mindset and ability to work collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Bloomerang).

  • Basic understanding of fundraising principles and donor lifecycle.

Content Assistant

Summary: The Content Assistant position is a passionate and creative role that tells our story,

engages supporters, and expands our impact through compelling digital and printed content.

The Content Assistant will write and distribute content that communicates our mission,

programs, and impact across various platforms at the direction of the Development Director.

The successful team member is a strong storyteller with a keen eye for detail and a heart for

mission.

Key Responsibilities

● Draft success stories, project spotlights, campaign, and other progress points within the

Organization for printed and digital content, including newsletters, online blog posts, and

Recorder articles.

● Assist in the planning and scheduling of social media posts (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).

● Monitor and respond to engagement (comments, messages, tags) on social media

posts.

● Maintain a consistent values and mission voice across all platforms.

● Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and program participants to gather stories and visuals.

● Attend school events as needed to capture photos, videos, and stories.

● Share content performance metrics with the Development Director to adjust strategies

as needed.

Background

HIS is an accredited first- through 12th-grade boarding school operated directly by the Pacific Union Conference.  As such, faculty and staff members receive remuneration and benefits according to the policies employed by all schools in the Pacific Union.  As in many other SDA boarding schools, employees live in on-campus housing.  The average student population at HIS is 72 students, split evenly between first through eighth and ninth through twelfth grades.
